by the real alchemist
In Istanbul, some journeys take longer than they are supposed to. Sakine knew this. That’s why one morning she left home early and got on the 500T bus, intending to visit a relative she hadn’t seen in years. What followed was a bit chaotic. Some people were not where they were supposed to be. Some things existed one day and were gone the next. And some questions only grew larger the more they were asked. No one could say what had changed. Perhaps no one even noticed. Because sometimes it is hard to notice when the world shifts. Especially when you are trying to make it to work on time. The Route 500T is a story about lost relatives, overly familiar strangers, long bus rides, small calculations, big coincidences, and the strange things hidden within everyday life. And Istanbul, as always, has no intention of offering any explanations.
