Einar did not trust the red light in the sky. In the Moon Country, people know better than to speak of it for long. They know better than to wander before dawn. They know better than to believe every voice that comes out of the dark. At a time of great loss, Einar is pulled into a journey far beyond the town he knows, with only Ásta, Pétur, and an old, impossible mirror to keep him from losing his way. The mirror shows paths that should not exist. It whispers of power. It offers answers no one else dares to give. Somewhere beyond the mountains, a faceless man is gathering strength. Somewhere in the dark, the lost book of Bishop Gottskálk waits to be returned. And between the Moon Country and the Land of the Sun, old Icelandic legends are beginning to wake. Einar does not want to be chosen. He does not want to be brave. He only wants to save the people he loves. But the red light has seen him now. And once it has seen you, it does not look away.
