The concrete didn't crumble. It evolved. Six months ago, the Bloom turned the world inside out. It wasn't a virus or a bomb; it was a total biological rejection of human architecture. Cities didn’t decay—they became living, breathing labyrinths where asphalt ripples like water and the buildings grow ribs. The things hunting in the quiet streets aren't undead. They are human beings reshaped by the soil, turned into beautiful, terrifying monstrosities that mimic the dead world to lure survivors in. Silas and Ben are surviving on lukewarm beans, broken radios, and absolute silence in the ruins of New Carthage. Their plan is simple: find a "Dead Zone"—a place where the earth stays dead and concrete stays concrete. But survival has an expiration date. When a run-in with a victim reveals that the Bloom is already taking root under Silas's skin, the clock starts ticking. He has to get Ben out of the city before he turns into the very thing they’re running from. Because out here, when the ground smiles... it's preparing to swallow you whole.
