The Sin of humanity

The wars ended, and peace finally prevailed on Earth, but was it better than the war? Humans established the World Government, but absolute power corrupted the people who held it. With no one left to oppose them and crippled by their own power, they took steps to maintain their positions and retain control. They disseminated their propaganda, asserting their right to remain in power and claiming that they had brought world peace. Yet, the dark truth remained in plain sight, ignored. It was the price of peace. Millions died, and countries that refused to join or held differing interests were destroyed. Through this, the victors became heroes, while the losers were cast as villains in history. Most notably, people from the victorious nations were grateful, viewing it as a necessary sacrifice. Even though they knew the devastating conditions of those who had lost everything to war, they simply ignored it, as if nothing had happened. Even after 80 years of its creation  World government ruled the world like a tyrant, with the world firmly in it's gasp. A secret organisation suddenly appeared and attacked the world government. What do they plan to do? Will they change the current situation of the world, or will they be extinguished like a spark, like countless others? Only time will be the witness to that, as this power struggle could destroy everything that records history.
