The soul of a human and the body of a shapeshifter. Jay, a human born on earth suddenly‌ woke up in a dungeon with a body that wasn’t his own. It belonged to a monster called a Faceless, a being ripe for decoration, capable of creating masks to shapeshift into the people it eats, but that didn’t mean this new body was strong. A Faceless was an empty canvas. Weak and brittle. Easily cut down, but when morphed, he could hide away and never be noticed. Such a monster wouldn’t be looked upon fondly by the other races, and if caught, would be experimented with, or outright killed. This wouldn’t be an issue for him as long as he kept who he was hidden, and with his old life now a thing of the past, he welcomed his new one with the goal of living freely and doing as he pleased, but life was never that simple. It first began with an eye, then a notebook, and then a throne-bound demon king. Before Jay could even escape from the dungeon he spawned in, he was set up for disaster. A destiny he was forced to see through. Planted by a being unknown to the world to conquer their trials. Why did it have to be him, and what was waiting at the end? Jay intended to find out. What to expect: A system allowing the MC to transform on the fly. Jay can freely transform in combat to take advantage of a wide variation of abilities such as a defender to block attacks, an archer to attack from range, or a mage to burn his enemies down. Around 2,000 words per chapter Long fight scenes that will either follow a formulaic fight similar to a game with phases or a more free-form where Jay’s enemies aren’t following a string of attacks like an NPC.
