The tree is dying. And the gods have decided mankind is to blame. When the Tree of Life begins to corrupt after three thousand years of absorbing humanity's darkness, the gods make a decision: eight judgements, eight kingdoms, eight punishments delivered by beings powerful enough to unmake the world. Nine Sephiroth said yes. One said no. Malkuth — the youngest, the one who loves humans most — cannot stop what is coming. But he refuses to raise his hand against the people he has walked among for centuries. So he walks. Watching. Placing small kindnesses in the path of people who might still make a difference. He doesn't know if it will be enough. He shows up anyway.
