The Riftbound Charter

The Riftbound Charter

by MercuryWrites

AdventureDramaFantasyHigh FantasyKingdom Building

Elian Vale cannot level. He cannot gain a combat class. He cannot kill monsters for power. In the Veyrath Imperium, that makes him useless enough to exile. Sent to Ashwick, a dying frontier village at the edge of the Mourning Rift, Elian expects mud, hunger, and a quiet end to his career as a classless clerk. Instead, he finds an old Frontier Charter buried beneath rotting village records. The Charter does not make him a hero. It does not give him a sword skill, a hidden bloodline, or a path to personal power. It recognizes something else: wells, granaries, watch shifts, sickrooms, public rules, trusted roles, and the fragile work of keeping a settlement alive. Ashwick is not safe. The well is bitter. The granary is nearly empty. The watch post is burned. The sickroom has no boundary. The villagers do not trust Elian, and they have good reason not to trust another man with a ledger. But if Ashwick can build rules instead of panic, repair facilities instead of waiting for rescue, and turn frightened residents into a working community, then the village itself may grow. A slow-burn settlement-building LitRPG about civic progression, survival infrastructure, and a classless clerk whose village can level even though he cannot.
