Jacob Stryder always did everything the way you were supposed to. Worked hard, kept his head down, built a life piece by piece the way someone had told him would make it all worth it. By every measurable standard, it worked. So how did he end up here? Yanked from his world by a strange man named Thrakk—who offers a sly smile and very little else in the way of explanation—Jacob finds himself stranded in a realm called Valhalla. However, his arrival was anything but the Nordic paradise he envisioned. Faced with a harsh new world and a strange system that seemingly governs it.
