Some people are born into power. Agir Kael was born into debt. At seventeen, with a sick mother, two younger siblings, and a body too weak for the army that killed his father, he takes the only job that will have him — sweeping floors in a clockmaker's shop on a forgotten lane in the capital. The clockmaker's name is Cronis. He is old, deliberate, and carrying something he doesn't speak about. When Agir accidentally touches an object he wasn't meant to touch, he feels it: the space between things. The distance the world is made of. Something vast, cold, and against all reason — his. Logos underlies everything. Every wall, every silence, every gap between one moment and the next. Most people move through it without ever knowing it's there. A rare few can perceive it. Fewer still can learn to work with it. And for those who do, the world opens into something deeper, stranger, and far more dangerous than it appeared before. This is not a story about a chosen one. There is no prophecy. No bloodline. No sudden awakening that makes everything easy. Just a young man who pressed himself against every door he could find, refusing to stop until one opened. And behind that door, a world he never expected. But every gain has its cost. Every step leads somewhere deeper. And moving through the city's underground is a darkness — patient, methodical, a debt of its own that has not yet been settled. Agir has stepped into a new world. Whether he steps back out remains to be seen.
