What Makes a Hero

At first glance, the city of Dhurndaral is filled with sturdy buildings, prosperous shops, and the ubiquitous presence of the city guard. Upon closer inspection, it’s also filled with orphaned children, semi-legal smuggling, and unsolved crimes that all remain stoutly ignored by those in power. When Kallista, a young girl with demonic ancestry, finds herself lost and alone, blindly following instincts that lead her to the city gates, she must adapt quickly to this neglected lifestyle. Survival is difficult in a place that seems to hate her without question; these mysterious instincts may be her only hope to grow stronger and carve out a life for herself. But they’re sure to come with a price, and she can only hope that she’ll be strong enough to pay it.
