The Dao Before Heaven

For ten thousand years, Elder Xu Tianhe pursued the Great Dao. He crossed forbidden realms, inherited the legacies of ancient immortals, and stood at the peak of cultivation long after his contemporaries had faded into history. Yet despite all his achievements, one question remained unanswered. If the Heavenly Dao governs all things beneath Heaven... Then what governs the Heavenly Dao? After eight centuries of preparation, Xu Tianhe performs a forbidden ritual designed to trace the Dao back to its source. The ritual succeeds. Unfortunately, the answer is not what he expected. Cast beyond Heaven itself, Xu Tianhe awakens in an age before stars, before worlds, before even the existence of the heavens. There he witnesses the birth of primordial beings, the rise of ancient powers, and the unfolding of a cosmos governed by laws unlike any he has ever known. Determined to understand this strange new reality, Xu Tianhe records its history through the lens of a cultivator, interpreting gods as immortals, divine kingdoms as sects, and cosmic struggles as battles for supremacy upon the Great Dao. Yet as the ages pass and the foundations of this realm reveal themselves, one troubling possibility emerges. Perhaps he has not reached the source of the Dao. Perhaps he has reached the source of something different. (Now TL;DR this is more of a conceptual project, specifically this is a retelling of Greek Mythology through the eyes of a Sect Leader a lot of the descriptions would be a change in format, and some elements of the story would be expansions over what we have, from fragments. I am planning to use italics for such sections, this should also cover some of the secondary myths that are often omitted in the main re-telling of the myths. I am not promising anything but it is a fun side project right now. May you slay your heart demons fellow disciples.)
