The earth of this world has lost its vitality, turning into a wasteland; water sources are polluted, the sky is obscured by dust, and sunlight no longer shines down. The surviving humans face a host of deadly crises, including food shortages, harsh environments, and mutations. Buck has just awakened a special gift: the ability to absorb energy and harness the power of evolution, enabling all things to transcend their limits and evolve to a higher plane. A small sapling, imbued with this evolutionary power, evolves infinitely into a World Tree that blocks out the sun. A small land tortoise evolves infinitely into the Black Tortoise, carrying the World Tree upon its back as it travels. A tiny spider evolves into the White Silk Demon God? Capable of manipulating the threads of fate for all things? Buck: “I possess a Black Tortoise as vast as a continent, and a World Tree that controls the weather… I am a kingdom unto myself.”
