Returning to the nursing home

Returning to the nursing home

Anti-Hero LeadApocalypseHigh FantasyMagicPsychological

What if humanity's greatest hero chose love over salvation? After leading humanity to victory against the Demon King, the Sage of Mana is granted a single wish by a childish demi-god whose power far exceeds its wisdom. He could heal the sick, reverse genocides, resurrect millions, or permanently end the incursions threatening humanity. Instead, he asks for only one thing. His wife. Dead for over twenty years, she is the one loss he was never able to accept. Granted his wish in the most chaotic way possible, the hero is sent back three weeks before mana erupts across Earth and opens the portals that will doom humanity. There is just one problem. Before mana rejuvenated him into the legendary hero history would remember, he was an elderly dementia patient confined to a wheelchair. Now trapped in his younger body but struggling against fading memories, moments of confusion, and a future only he remembers, he must race against time to save the woman he loves before the world ends around them. Because while heroes are supposed to save everyone, he already made his choice. And humanity wasn't it.(I will use AI to edit, since it is my first book. There will be humor, dark humor, and although it isn't the point of the story, you will find out what living in a nursing home is like. Each chapter will be one day closer to his goal.)
