It appeared overnight, more than fifty years ago, a land no satellite can accurately capture, filled with impossible ruins, unexplored cave systems, strange minerals, and phenomena that continue to defy science. Wars were fought over it. Nations rose and fell because of it. And the people born there began to change. As an investigator for the Enhanced Crimes Division, Shin Highden handles cases involving unnatural abilities, unexplained deaths, and mysteries ordinary detectives can't solve. But after a routine investigation ends in disaster, he becomes the target of forces he doesn't understand. The deeper he digs, the more one question refuses to leave him: Where are we?
