Candlelight Immortality

Severick Slater lived a simple life, intrigued by historical discoveries and mythology, but ultimately devoid of the fantastical until the day of Armstrong’s folly — the lost cave of Zedreck has been uncovered in the cradle of humanity, and with it, the occult warnings against lighting the once extinguished candles.  “We gained life everlasting and ascending glory at a cost. The eld terrors and their eternal prisons became our frailty and shattered our hubris.”  With the lighting of the candles, the ancient world has stirred to life. Severick and St Lyon’s is separated from the outside world. Deadly beasts appear as landscapes shift and realms merge. Severick finds himself conscripted into the city’s cobbled militia, tasked with the city’s survival. With only a scrap of lore and a sliver of safety in the city’s crumbling defenses, Severick must gain the power needed to survive.
