May, 2023 In 2023, scientists around the world gathered to study a strange virus discovered in African wildlife. It was unlike anything seen before — it dulled every sense except hunger, leaving its hosts in a constant state of exhaustion and aggression, resembling rabies but far more unpredictable. Within months, a vaccine was developed using powerful cell-boosting compounds designed to eliminate the virus and push the immune system beyond its limits. The first test was conducted on a rat. It was the last test they ever ran. Instead of healing the infected cells, the vaccine accelerated the virus at an alarming rate — within minutes the animal lost all control, driven by insatiable hunger and complete loss of reason. The virus had reached the brain. The project was immediately shut down, the specimen sealed in a sub-zero containment unit, and the truth buried deep within classified files. October, 2028 Five years passed. The laboratory sat abandoned and forgotten — until an earthquake cracked its walls open. Parasites and microorganisms escaped the containment unit, carrying the virus silently into the outside world. No alarms. No warnings. No time to prepare.
