Cole lives in modern-day Earth, where nothing magical exists except the map bound to his soul. The map shows only one thing: silver paths where no one can find him through absence. If Cole takes a silver path, investigators cannot track him by the empty spaces he leaves behind, missing camera footage, broken routines, skipped sightings, or patterns of where he should have been. His absence never becomes a trail. But the silver path is never effortless. It may force him to climb through a hotel laundry chute, crawl under a delivery truck, break a bathroom window, walk straight through a wedding crowd, trade jackets with a drunk stranger, sleep inside a storage locker, or cross a police search line carrying a stolen mop bucket. There is always a silver path, but it always demands action. Cole does not use the map to save the world or protect groups of people. He uses it for himself. At first, he vanishes from small dangers: security guards, angry men in alleys, cameras, police questions, private investigators. Then larger forces notice the impossible pattern. Cole is seen entering places no one can enter, leaving places no one can leave, and escaping searches that should have trapped him completely. No one knows about the map. They call him a thief, a fugitive, a spy, a hoax, a criminal, a myth. Eventually, they call him The Ghost. As Cole’s legend grows, each Cole point-of-view chapter follows him through specific routes, cities, buildings, and close escapes, while alternate point-of-view chapters show detectives, journalists, federal agents, criminal bosses, security experts, and powerful enemies trying to explain the impossible man who keeps disappearing. They are all looking for a pattern. Cole’s only pattern is silver.
