Ethan Vale has spent most of his life inside Mercy Hill Psychiatric Center. Doctors call him delusional. Patients call him useful. Ethan calls himself an occupational hazard. When he finally escapes, he has no legal identity, no stable home, and no realistic plan for survival. What he does have is a strange talent for reading people, inventing rituals, surviving chaos, and turning fear into a paid service. Soon, Ethan is pulled into a city’s gray markets: antique dealers, ghost markets, private collectors, suspicious real estate, strange accidents, and clients who are desperate enough to hire a madman. He may be a fraud. He may be seeing something no one else can. Most days, even Ethan is not sure. But if there is money in bad omens, Ethan Vale is open for business.
