Ryuji Sato was just trying to survive a bet he shouldn’t have taken, and now he’s stuck in the most prestigious magic academy on the continent. He encounters the usual things, spoiled nobles, a tournament for bragging rights, a headmaster who knows too much. All that would be bad enough, but he’s also carrying the most inconvenient secret of all, a connection to the Lord of the Tower, the demon guardian whose last two transgressions toppled kingdoms. And the closer that secret pulls him toward the truth, the more dangerous the questions become. How do you dig up answers about a past you don’t understand when the truth might be the thing that burns the world down?

Both levers trail the field
Traffic and conversion are both below comparable stories. Cadence is the first lever — stories posting near-daily reached 25 followers 17% of the time; stories posting every few days almost never did. Get the flow going, then re-check conversion.
Benchmarks: 8,060 active Royal Road stories, percentiles within the 20–49 chapters band, cohort of 2026-07-02. Conversion is measured as followers gained per 1,000 views over the recent window.
