A story written in co-authorship with my husband — the tale of a contract killer who resolved to remake his life from the ground up. Having carried out his final assignment, he takes upon himself the heavy burden of raising the child whose parents he took from this world. Over the years, that bond transforms him — but a blood vendetta threatens to put a brutal end to his quiet family life. What choice will the protagonist make to protect those he loves — and will the sins of the fathers, and the ghosts of his own crimson past, finally claim him?
