Descent of the Returning Traveller

In a world ruled by the Star Stream — a silver river of souls, forgotten memories, and celestial power — nothing is free. Those who seek the strength of the stars must earn it through Recitals: ancient verses whispered toward relics, constellations, or the shattered echoes of a dead Creator. Only a rare few possess the bloodline capable of hearing those verses. The rest remain ordinary. Alistar Trevis awakens inside a cold dormitory with fractured memories and a life that no longer feels entirely his own. His past is filled with gaps he cannot explain, and something inside him feels fundamentally displaced from the world itself. Then he discovers the impossible. While ordinary people walk a single Starway, Alistar can walk two. One grants terrifying computational clarity — the ability to reduce people, economics, and reality itself into cold equations. The other grants spatial perception beyond human understanding, allowing him to perceive the world like a living map. But awakening comes at a brutal cost. The First Verse strips away emotion, replacing grief and fear with pure calculation. And in a city of mechanical umbrellas, steam-powered trams, hidden assassination networks, and underground movements operating beneath smoke-covered skylines, becoming emotionless is both a weapon and a curse. As fragmented visions of another world begin invading his mind — a world of glass towers, artificial lights, and skies without stars — Alistar realizes a terrifying truth: The Star Stream recognizes him. And somewhere beyond the borders of the known world, the silent continent of Silivia is beginning to stir. Among those who study forbidden verses, an ancient prophecy still survives: “When the final light fades, the Traveller shall walk beyond the end of fate.”
