Veil Tale

Veil Tale

by D.S Anders

AdventureLitRPGProgressionPsychologicalVirtual Reality

When he wakes in a luxurious seaside suite with no memory of his name, past, or even why he’s there, panic is the only thing that feels real. A strange man named Reginald explains that he’s inside Vale Tale -  a hyper-advanced full-dive VR world where players can temporarily alter their memories and experience perfectly immersive adventures. According to Reginald, the protagonist chose the most extreme option possible: Complete Immersion. No memories. No safety net. No way to know who you really are.. At first, all he wants is to leave. Then something goes wrong. As the boundaries between player, system, and self begin to unravel, as he’s forced deeper into a world governed by the mysterious Codex System -  a framework where stats influence not only strength and intelligence, but identity itself. Every choice shapes who he becomes. With fragmented memories resurfacing through cryptic achievements and hidden mechanics lurking beneath the surface of the game, one question begins to haunt him: Why would someone willingly erase themselves to enter Vale Tale? And more importantly… What kind of person was he before he forgot?
