Neil and his younger sister Anna run away from home, hoping to leave their difficult life behind. With little money and nowhere to go, they spend the night walking through the city while heavy rain pours around them. Cold, tired, and unsure of what to do next, the two eventually take shelter in a quiet alleyway. Neil tries to comfort Anna as they sit together listening to the sound of the rain. While looking around for something to pass the time, Neil finds an old fairytale book that had been left behind nearby. Hoping to distract his sister, he starts reading the story aloud. As he continues, the pages suddenly begin to glow, and a strange light surrounds the two siblings. Before they can understand what is happening, everything around them disappears.
