Magic and Darkness: The Original Timeline

Caelan wakes in an unfamiliar room with no memory of who he was before. Taken in by the powerful and enigmatic Lord Severin Halbrecht, he is given a name, a place at the kingdom's most prestigious magic academy, and a warning — the darkness in his blood is not gone. It has only been contained. What he does with the time that buys him is entirely up to him. At the academy he finds friends, purpose, and something he was never supposed to have — a future. But the kingdom around him is quietly fracturing, and the closer Caelan looks at the world he is learning to belong to, the more certain he becomes that something is very wrong beneath its surface. But the world has plans of its own. And not everyone Caelan learns to love are who they appear to be.
