Greg was just a guy who read too many isekai novels and confidently believed he could write better ones.... Then, he dies by a truck! Naturally, I mean, this is usually how this type of stories go. He wakes up in another world as Kael Shadowbane, a supposedly legendary hero with an absurdly long title, infinite power, and a kingdom full of people who treat him like a prophecy instead of a person. The problem? Kael is painfully aware of how ridiculous all of this is. Every trope shows up on cue—villains monologue, kingdoms are corrupt in predictable ways, and about everyone around him seems to be following a badly written script. Even worse, the world appears to enforce these clichés like laws of physics. Now trapped in a fantasy setting that runs on recycled plot devices and narrative convenience, Kael does the only thing he can: complain, resist destiny, and try not to become the protagonist this world keeps insisting he is. ...Unfortunately for him, the story doesn’t care!
