Synopsis — The Atropos Book I: The Five Kingdoms For a thousand years, the world believed the war was over. The Five Kingdoms stood united beneath the blessings of their divine sovereign beasts, while the ancient tyrant Ravaryn — the dreaded King of Ash — remained condemned in history as the monster who nearly destroyed humanity itself. Every generation, the heirs of the great houses ascend the sacred mountain of Svarnashikhara to undertake the Trial of the Burning Sky, a brutal rite meant to awaken divine marks gifted by the celestial Garuda. Warriors are forged there. Legends are born there. And sometimes, heirs die there. Aarvane Vaishran never expected to survive it. Born to a forgotten mountain house with neither power nor influence, he enters the trial surrounded by royal bloodlines, elite warriors, and heirs destined for greatness. But when the mountain awakens ancient horrors buried beneath its forests, the trial descends into a nightmare no kingdom was prepared for. Whispering creatures stalk the fog. Ruins hidden beneath the mountain begin to stir. And deep below the world, something ancient opens its eyes. As the chosen heirs uncover the truth behind Ravaryn and the lost Great War, they realize history itself was built upon a lie. The King of Ash was never humanity’s destroyer. He was its last wall. Now the seal imprisoning the abyss beyond the frontier is breaking, kingdoms are beginning to fall, and the gods that once protected mankind are awakening in fear. Caught between divine prophecy, political betrayal, and an approaching cosmic horror older than civilization itself, Aarvane must rise from an overlooked survivor into the one figure capable of standing against the darkness returning to consume the world. Because beyond the throne of ash… the abyss is waiting.
