“Are you bored with your world? Then try surviving in another.” That was how the new life began for a young man who had grown far too tired of his own reality. After an encounter with a mysterious entity, he is reincarnated into a world of dark fantasy — cruel, filthy, and merciless. But instead of a hero’s power, a blessing from the gods, or a convenient system, he is given a fate considered a curse in this world. He becomes a Bereft. An immortal shell without a soul. In this world, people like him are not saved. They are hunted down, locked in cages, and thrown into bottomless pits after being “freed” from everything that makes a person human. To the Inquisition, he is a mistake. To ordinary people, a monster. To himself, a foreign body carrying only the fragments of a former self. But even an empty shell can want to live. Now he must endure fear, pain, pursuit, and loneliness in search of an answer to one simple question: if the soul is gone, does that mean the person is gone as well?
