New Life in a Broken World

Years passed as the fires of war raged. After several centuries of gruesome struggle, humanity finally emerged victorious. But their world was already half razed; portals to other worlds were scattered across the planet. This broken world welcomed the next generation of life. Born to one of humanity’s heroes, Carmen possessed full intelligence from her very first breath. She spent her days being played with and poked by the adults who ignored her wishes and a will of the world who disturbed her peaceful naps. When her second mother prepared to give birth, Carmen assumed she would finally get a moment of peace. Alas, it was not to be. Every sibling was a greater calamity than the one before. Now, she lives in a household where things can go quite wrong, quite fast and quite badly. Luckily her thoroughly ordinary appearing father could handle trouble, if not her four mothers. Probably. What to expect – A sarcastic Carmen who had to bear the questionable choices of her parents. A pitiable Carmen who has to take care of her siblings and not die while doing so. A kind Carmen who will definitely not take things to heart. Probably? A Crazy SoL with siblings who never let Carmen catch a break. Parenting problems that cannot be solved with power alone.
