Midnight. A lonely highway somewhere deep in the California desert. A tired Japanese traveler drives through endless darkness while smoking “colitas” and fighting off a pounding headache. The clock in his car reads 23:48. Then he sees it. A glowing town that shouldn’t exist. Beautiful women smile at him from the roadside. Neon lights flicker through the desert dust. Somewhere in the distance, church bells ring at midnight. Or maybe not midnight. The women invite him into a strange luxury hotel called Hotel California. The drinks are expensive. The guests are strangely friendly. The parties never end. And somehow… the clocks never move past 23:48. Before the night is over, the traveler realizes something terrifying: Checking in is easy. Checking out may be impossible.
