Five years ago, Gates appeared across Earth. Now monsters roam dungeons, Hunters are celebrities, and livestreamed raids pull more viewers than professional sports. Aiko Graves wanted none of that. She just wanted rent money. But after awakening inside a collapsing dungeon, Aiko gains a terrifying ability that feeds on attention itself. Fear, love, admiration, hate—every emotion directed toward her becomes power. Unfortunately for society, Aiko is exactly the kind of person who should never have that ability. Now operating under the streamer name VelvetMayhem, Aiko skyrockets to internet fame through absurd dungeon clears, catastrophic property damage, and increasingly unhinged livestreams. The worse she behaves… The stronger she gets. And after one random viewer donates during her first stream, Aiko becomes dangerously attached to him. To the internet, she’s an entertaining disaster. To monsters, she’s a walking apocalypse. To one unlucky viewer? She’s already planning their future together.
