In a world where some born special and some born as a sacrifice for it, the Hero stood atop the mountain of corpses and was crowned a God. Beneath that mountain, Elias K. Vane was looking for his shoes. Magic has evolved, turning the elite into divine beings and the rest into cogs for the industrial machine. Elias was a content cog, until the machine was crushed by a “Holy Act.” Left with nothing but a thirst for the mundane life he lost, Elias enters the dangerous trade of Scavenging from the perspective of a very egoist person.
