Foolish Genius

Born in the outskirts, Kael never had much: a factory job paid in exhaustion, a body that ached too early, and a life spent surviving beneath a sun that burned hotter every year. When the infection took hold, dark fluid spreading beneath his skin like something alive, he did what anyone with nothing left to lose would do. He took the free ticket. Now he’s somewhere he doesn’t recognize, trapped in a trial he doesn’t understand, with a system calling him Unblessed and strangers expecting him to play a role he never auditioned for. He has no blessing, no destiny, and no intention of becoming a hero. But Kael has always been good at surviving things that should have killed him. And if the sun is watching, well… the moon is too. A/N - The story is slow-paced, and romance will appear later in the story.
