The Bastion's covenant with the spirits has lasted generations. It has given them the power to bond souls, to bond metal, to bond their society as one. Auren is the first heir born outside the covenant. He has fourteen sunrises to prove his worth. A boy without blood to rule. A man soul bound to protect him. One is meant to lead. The other meant to die.
