The Shadow of Pine and Grime

In a world where gods no longer walk among mortals, their chosen champions shape the fate of kingdoms. William never asked to become the Guardian of the Forest. After waking in a mysterious new world and surviving the destruction of his village, William discovers he has been blessed by the ancient Forest God, Víðarr. Gifted with powerful earth and plant magic, he is thrust into a brutal conflict against monsters, demons, and a terrifying force known only as Death and Decay. As corrupted creatures ravage the land and a demon lord seeks to consume the world, William must master powers far beyond his understanding. Alongside loyal friends, a fiery noblewoman chosen by the God of Fire, and the spirits of the forest itself, he begins a journey that will transform him from a lonely boy into a legendary protector. But power always comes with a price. Haunted by memories of another life and burdened by a destiny tied to gods, prophecy, and royal bloodlines, William must decide what kind of ruler he will become—and how much he is willing to sacrifice to protect the people he loves. From ruined villages and ancient forests to royal courts and divine battlefields, The Shadow of Pine and Grime is an epic fantasy about life, decay, family, and the enduring strength of hope against darkness.
