Seven years ago, Velise ran. She ran when the machines took over. She ran when they took her family. She ran because it was the only thing she had left, and she was good at it. Until she wasn't fast enough. Now she's inside a Facility- the airtight prisons humanity has been disappearing into since the Uprising. No one escapes. No one even tries anymore. And yet, Velise refuses to be just another number in their system, another body broken into compliance by routine and punishment and the slow erosion of hope. She will find a way out. Even if it kills her. Even if it costs her everything she has left. Because freedom was the last thing her family gave her. And she refuses to let it be taken too.
