The House I Inherited Wants Treasure

Elias Crowe was broke, desperate, and one bad month away from living on the street. So when a notorious Victorian mansion where every previous owner had mysteriously vanished sold for a fraction of its value at auction, he jumped at the chance. He expected creaky floors and expensive repairs. He didn’t expect the house to be alive. On his first night, two ancient keys appear on the kitchen table. One opens every door in the house… except one forbidden chamber. The other, when turned the wrong way in an ordinary linen closet, rips open a glowing portal to another world. The house has been waiting for a worthy Keyholder. It whispers promises of fortune and power. It hungers for long-lost treasures stolen from its many worlds. And it won’t take “no” for an answer. Thrust unwillingly into deadly ruins beneath twin moons, hunted by rival treasure seekers, and trapped in a reluctant partnership with a sentient, manipulative estate that rearranges its own hallways to get what it wants, Elias must master the keys, feed the house’s appetite, and uncover the terrifying truth behind the forbidden door. Because if he fails… the house will simply find another owner. Treasure hunting meets sentient horror in this portal fantasy progression tale. Expect dangerous worlds, growing powers, a living base that levels up with him, and a house that might be the greatest ally or final boss he’ll ever face.
