Wings of Fire: Twists of Fate

Shoal wasn't the type of dragon to try to accomplish grand heroics, be courageous, or be wrapped up in anything larger. She found it innate in herself to be in the background, to hide from the limelight, and to keep to herself, holding close all she held dear, like the dragons she knew, her hobbies, and her safety.
Yet, with a crumbling household and a looming, very personal, life-upending move by a friend, all she wanted more than ever was to be secure and certain she'd have all she needed. Regardless, and inevitably, it was all coming to a head, and everything she had painstakingly built for herself was endangered, but not in the way she ever could have anticipated.
Wasn't she destined to have a straightforward life in this world, that she would've whittled out? Despite it, though, everything was now incoherent, unrecognizable from how she knew it before. There were new paths ahead of her, uncertain and twisting, intertwined with hundreds of others, and with various outcomes she would never truly hope to comprehend.
Hello readers, thank you for taking the time to click on this story.
This is an ambitious project, but one I've wanted to do for a very long time with any fandom. I chose Wings of Fire since the relationship I've had with it over the years has had a special place in my heart, but also its characters, which, from Moonwatcher, Turtle, Qubli, Cricket, you name it, I have become enthralled with. Maybe it is because I hope to see myself in them, or I relate to their stories, as turbulent as they may be.
Wings of Fire: Twists of Fate will be the first book in a series of books that encompasses a complete fan-made arc. Presently, the goal is to respect the current lore up to the present day, and as of writing this, book 16, The Hybrid Prince, but this series starts not long after Arc 3's ending, so no spoilers for Hybrid Prince. Regardless, the length depends on my commitment and willingness to put in the time to write.
However, the other goal is to make stories, which, unlike the main, official works of WoF, are more adult-themed and humble. These aren't exactly world-saving, renowned heroes; they won't all be model dragons. There will also be failure, love, heartbreak, success, and yes, the extraordinary fantasy mysticism of Wings of Fire with my own headcanons in moderation.
Regardless, I will set aside the melodrama and introduce you to what is currently being done for Wings of Fire: Twists of Fate. I welcome any feedback, but please keep it constructive. Thank you once again for taking the time to read this; it means the world.
With love,Kye.
P.S. There will be another copy of this on archiveofourown.com, and none of this would be possible without the numerous friends who helped with editing and reviewing, especially my partner, Rako.
