[ The City is a Machine. And Every Masterpiece has a Fracture. ] Shanghai, 1936. To the socialites wrapped in furs on the upper decks of foreign steamers, the Paris of the East is a glittering dream of neon and decadence. But to Leo Van, it is nothing more than a giant, malfunctioning clockwork mechanism grinding itself into oblivion. Armed with a brass slide rule, an iron wrench, and a brain cursed with a 0.02-second emotional latency, Leo returns from exile not as a hero, but as an engineer of systemic ruin. Operating under the perfect camouflage of a high-society Art Restoration expert, he doesn't break into vaults to steal physical assets. He performs reverse engineering on the city's infrastructure to harvest something far more volatile: The fundamental parameters of colonial control. From flash-locking a three-ton automaton clock across frozen marble using thermodynamic vacuums, to weaponizing localized infrasound through a mansion's radiator network, Leo is systematically reclaiming his father's shattered sonar legacy—The Dragon’s Ear. But the colonial Council’s black-budget clearing squads are closing in, led by Inspector Victor Fang—a relentless hunter who represents the raw, chaotic friction of the streets. As the gears of the empire tighten, Leo must decide if his mathematics can withstand the unquantifiable weight of human kindness... or if he must trigger a macro-harmonic inversion that will melt the city’s ledger into puddles of copper and lead. The countdown to the zero point has begun. The math doesn't require human proof. The math is already true. What to Expect : Hard Sci-Fi / Clockworkpunk Elements: Every heist is governed strictly by period-accurate fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, and acoustics (No magic, pure high-concept physics!). Industrial Noir Aesthetics: 1930s Shanghai espionage blended with a cold, mechanical, atmospheric atmosphere. Brilliant, Calculated Protagonist: A clinical, detached logic thief dealing with a severe sensory overload (Hyperacusis). Cat-and-Mouse Symbiosis: A high-stakes dual dynamic between an absolute math prodigy and a veteran street detective. Fast-Paced, Tight Narrative: A beautifully calibrated epic leading to the historic winter of 1937.
