Humanity survived the end of the world. After nuclear wars and the catastrophic impact of asteroid VL746, Earth transformed into a hostile land filled with mutated creatures, ruined civilizations, and awakened humans. Over generations, exposure to the new world altered humanity itself, giving rise to strange abilities and abnormal traits. In the New Era, every human awakens something. Everyone except Sri. At fourteen, Sri undergoes the awakening ceremony only to be declared a complete failure. No ability. No affinity. No awakening. Entirely human.
