The world ended during an event now known as Day Break. Cities collapsed, reality fractured, and monsters began crawling from dungeons that appeared across the continent like wounds in the world itself. The only people capable of fighting back are the Awakened—humans gifted with supernatural powers tied to the mysterious System governing the ruined world. Aeric Pentafrax is not one of them. Forced to survive as an underpaid transporter for dungeon raids, Aeric spends his days hauling supplies for people stronger than him while desperately clinging to the hope that he might awaken someday. But when a routine F-rank dungeon expedition turns into a massacre, Aeric is dragged into a nightmare of corrupted monsters, living black dust, and impossible horrors lurking beneath Devil’s Gulch. He dies there. And wakes up changed. Bound to a grotesque flesh-and-stone golem carrying the lingering soul of a dead bus driver, Aeric begins to uncover terrifying truths hidden behind Day Break, the System, and the unstable fractures spreading through reality itself. As his powers grow, so does the horrifying realization that his resurrection was never supposed to happen—and that something deep within the dungeons recognizes him. Now hunted by corruption, haunted by fractured timelines, and burdened by powers tied to blood and soul itself, Aeric must survive a world that may already be collapsing beyond repair. Because some things should have stayed dead.
