Shen Jianhai is alive only because his name still remains on the mine rolls. Then a dead worker walks out of the fog and warns him not to let the sect send him up the mountain. In the forbidden mine wall, Shen finds a shard of bone that remembers things no disciple should know: erased workers, hidden records, failed ascensions, and the machine beneath Hanxi Sect's path to heaven. The shard is not a system. It gives no quests and no clean rewards. It reveals buried truth, then charges him in blood, pain, and missing pieces of himself. If ascension is a lie, Shen has one chance to learn who profits from it before his own name moves to the mountain list.
