When a plague brings death and death brings zombies, society collapses. The struggle for survival is already hard enough with hordes zombies ready to make a meal out of any survivors they can find. Unfortunately, the undead aren't the worst monsters roaming the streets. But what if monsters aren't all what they seem to be? Have they really lost everything that made them human? And if so, can they get it back? That, and other conundrums, are exactly what one creature must face as it roams the zombie infested ruins of a once thriving civilisation. Can it reclaim the person it once was? Can it reconcile that identity with the instincts that now drive it? Is it possible to be more than a savage beast searching for its next prey? And what does it truly mean to be a monster? This is my second story on Royal Road and I will warn you now, my other story A Demon's Core, is still ongoing and will be my first priority, but even so, I will do my best to not take too long with chapters for this one.

Mid-pack, room on both levers
Traffic and conversion both sit mid-field for a story this size. Growth here compounds from consistency: steady cadence feeds traffic, and a sharper hook lifts what each view is worth.
