Nova is hit by a car, suffers brain damage and falls into a coma. To save her, her friends Edgar and Virgeln enter a realistic VR game called “The Economy” in exchange for danat (financial support). In the game, pain, fatigue, and emotions are real, and actions affect a real body. The goal: to complete the game and wake Nova up. They are captured by bandits and taken to a poor village. Here, human trafficking is rampant due to the weakness of the empire. Edgar escapes with his teleportation ability, while Virgeln is deceived by the light. Nova, using her intelligence and strategy, makes an offer to the local guard chief Lancer.
