After the Sundering shattered the world, humanity survived in roaming clusters clinging to the last scraps of technology—until the first Coreframes emerged.Towering giants powered by the mystical energy released in the Sundering, they stood against the darkness creeping over the last bright corners of the world and helped humanity rebuild a fragile peace. Three hundred years later, Jalen Castell still dreams of becoming one of those legendary pilots, just like his father was for the kingdom of Ardinia. But years of fixing fences, chasing chickens, and repairing machines for the local machinist have dulled that dream… even as monster attacks rise and war with the rival kingdom of Valdrin looms closer. When a hunt gone wrong drives Jalen deep into the wilderness, he discovers a sleeping giant buried in an abandoned military outpost—a wolf-helmed Coreframe with a past tied to his own. Stormwolf recognizes the spark in Jalen and begins the bonding process. The connection that forms is stronger and more unpredictable than anything seen before, fueled by a Legacy lying dormant inside Stormwolf’s core.
