Requiem in Resonance

Seven years after his parents vanished without a trace, seventeen-year-old Kenji Atsushi has stopped expecting answers. Then he catches his younger sister fighting a monster no one else can see. When Kenji is swallowed alive protecting her, he should die. Instead, something inside him wakes up. Kenji tears his way free wrapped in black Essence, his eyes burning white and an ancient voice speaking through his mouth. The hidden Exorcists who witness his awakening have a name for what he has become: A Vessel — a human sharing one body and soul with a Spirit. There is only one problem. Vessels are supposed to be extinct. Dragged into a hidden world of ancient Relics, contracted Spirits, forgotten bloodlines and an order sworn to maintain the balance between humanity and the supernatural, Kenji must learn to control the thing inside him before someone else decides what he is — and whether he should be allowed to exist.
