Every Rude Morning

Every Rude Morning

Villainous LeadFemale LeadActionFantasyHorror

Twenty years ago, the Bloom fell from the sky. Radiation was the word people used because they needed a word. It poisoned oceans, rewrote bloodlines, birthed monsters, crowned heroes, broke cities, and gave miracles to the unlucky few who survived contact with it. Some became saints. Some became gods. Some became things nobody has names for. Science is still arguing with religion over what the Bloom actually was. Amalga does not care. She is many things: murderer, cannibal, walking crime scene, devoted lover, and according to several extremely rude government files, an eldritch biohazard wearing a pretty woman's face. Personally, she considers herself charming. After years of rampaging across the broken mainland, Amalga arrives in Hawaiʻi with Sugar at her side and no real plan beyond eating well, causing trouble, and finding something interesting enough to keep her entertained. Then time resets. Sometimes when she dies. Sometimes when she wins. Sometimes when she changes the wind just enough that the world seems to panic and shove her back to the beginning. The universe, apparently, has decided Amalga is a mistake it refuses to fix and a problem it refuses to let succeed. Unfortunately for the universe, Amalga takes that personally. Caught between broken timelines, half-memories, missing years, old sins, new empires, and powers nobody truly understands, Amalga must decide what kind of monster she wants to become. A wandering apocalypse. A queen with an iron fist. A god people kneel to because they are too afraid not to. Or something worse. Or something better. Who knows with her. This is a story about chaos, hunger, love, murder, power, and the consequences of living in a world where nobody gets an answer from God just because they suffered loudly enough.
