In the year 2261, Colonel Jacob Davis wakes up on Triton after 20 years in biostasis, with his memories fractured and his sense of self barely intact. He remembers a void. He remembers darkness. He remembers a voice in the void calling itself his guide. But the official story of what happened to him does not add up, and neither does the United Space Colonies’ sudden eagerness to send him back into service. Humanity is preparing for an interstellar war against the Children of Yama, a mysterious cult hidden 400 light-years away. Yet as Jacob is drawn deeper into the mission, impossible figures begin appearing before him: a man in a black spacesuit, ghosts from his past, and memories of atrocities he swears he never committed. Every answer leads him further from reality as he knows it, toward an ancient alien megastructure that may hold the secret to immortality, death, and the truth of Jacob’s own existence. Perhaps, in this strange realm, his burning questions will finally be answered. But some truths are not meant to bring peace.
