Akira is fourteen, half-Indian, half-Japanese, and somehow living alone in Tokyo on a scholarship he applied for because the place looked cool. He has twelve Twitch followers, an ancient PC that takes two minutes to boot, and a strong personal policy of minding his own business. The policy lasts approximately one day. Between a quietly unhinged classmate who got his number from the student registry before they'd even spoken, a girl who's wrong exactly often enough to be dangerous, and a blue-eyed basketball player who doesn't initiate anything but somehow keeps showing up — ordinary days are turning out to be a lot. No portals. No systems. No chosen one nonsense. Just Akira, trying to survive high school one day at a time.
