Epis was born at the bottom of the Demon Realm. A low-born succubus, starving, unwanted, and barely understood even by her own kind, she survives in the forgotten cesspools where weak demons are left to rot. When the only person who ever protected her dies, Epis crosses through a sudden rift into the human world—a place of color, warmth, fear, and hunger she does not yet understand. Valerion, the God of Justice. Respected by the Divine Realm for longer than mortal history can measure, he begins to question the laws he once upheld when he sees demons condemned not for what they have done, but for what they are. His refusal to bend draws the eyes of gods, angels, and the Sovereign of All himself, until conviction becomes accusation. Their paths should never have crossed. One is a demon struggling against the instincts of her own body. The other is a god whose belief in justice may cost him everything. Between the Divine Realm, the mortal world, and the Demon Realm’s ancient wounds, their meeting will set in motion a story of hunger, judgment, exile, vengeance, and the terrible weight of choosing what someone is allowed to become.
