The RIven Road

Rhakan, an ambitious young officer of the vigilant Arcane Marshals, has spent his life in servitude to a reclusive, despot King. His sister, a priestess in training, attempts to keep him sheltered from the dangers of Cardun's shadowy politics and cloven underground. This proves difficult, however, as she is in love with the city's most notorious criminal and revolutionary leader: A man known as Roake the Riven.But as Rhakan begins to see the cracks form in the small world around him, he very quickly grows up to be someone who has to pick up the pieces left behind by Roake. Yearning for a semblance of the inherited knightly path his closest friends—the twins Cyrille and Auro—were destined to walk, he strives for greatness in his own way, wishing to prove himself in a dangerous political scape. It does not take long for Rhakan to realize, however, that there is true change needed in Cardun; and that in order to enact it, he will have to step off the path of light and visit the same dysmal places that Roake once did. But will a revolution be enough to upend years of tradition and countless layers of schemes and treachery, or will he find himself continuing the cycle?
